Thanks for checking out my new web page. I look forward to giving you an update monthly on what is happening and fun perspectives on the horse industry.

Lately, I've run into a lot of baby boomers who are choosing to "do their own thing". Things they've had a passion for all their lives. New adventures. Time to meet achievements and goals before time runs out. (No surprise here. We were a pretty rebellious bunch in the '60s!)

Every day, I do just that--mostly through my work with horses and people. My activity revolves around teaching, clinics, judging, consulting, helping people buy horses, writing.

On a weekly basis, I teach riding and training to a number of wonderful customers that range in age from 6-70 years old, from beginning riders to accomplished professional trainers. It's the best job I can imagine. There is instant gratification for me in seeing their progress and joy each and every time. The trainers are passing along the authentic horsemanship that I teach to their young students and they tell me that will be my legacy. It's pretty cool for me to see that kind of influence!

Sage can't wait each morning to hear me say, "let's go out and feed the horses". After that, though, every day is different. "Canisphere's Wynter Sage" is my German Shepherd puppy. My favorite plant here is the beautiful Texas Silverado Sage and "sage" also means wise. She is a very intuitive dog so the name fits her.

For a brochure, I had the chance to ride a client's champion Half Arabian Pinto trail and western pleasure gelding. The photo here was professionally taken in five minutes….in between pouring rain!

I own just two horses-Bonita San Olena a 2002 Half Arabian mare that is a reining horse and her half brother, Bandosolena a 2004 gelding that likely will be a wonderful cowhorse. My immediate goal is to develop these two uniquely bred horses, to enjoy them and what they can do. They are very good horses!

There's an old cowboy saying that in his lifetime, a cowboy should have one good horse, one good dog, and one good woman. A judge friend of mine added to that one time saying all a woman needs is a good horse and a good dog! Well, if that's true, I have succeeded.

Thanks again for stopping by……until next month…….Happy Trails!!
