Cheval Stables 2005 Open
Show Series came to a close on August 28th with the Year-End Awards
Show. This Marion, New York facility had a gorgeous day for a show
(sunny & warm) and no rain in sight!
Owners David/Toni Poorman did a sensational job of getting the facility
ready for the series and promises 2006 will be even better. Show
Officials: Ringmaster: Tyler Baker (never did this before but looks like
a natural and hope to see him in 2006 back in center-ring); Announcers:
Toni Poorman (May 22); Debbie North (June 17 & July 19); Marylou
Yuskiewicz (August 28). Show Secretaries: Sherry Long & Lyn Smock; Show
Registration: Katie Adriansen & Trisha Poorman; Chief Cook: Richard
Smock and thanks to all the ribbon runners, spectators, advertisers and
sponsors - you are what makes a show a success.
Three lucky exhibitors and their handlers participated in the add-in Dog
Class (check picture attached). Black Lab Smokey handled by Trisha
Poorman (he led the others in - he looked like a natural); American
Stafford Terrier Jezlyn handled by Thomas Bence (she had more fun
chewing on the leash) and Jack Russell Terrier Chester handled by Serena
Buys (flipped over in the ring and was trying to leave the ring). The
judge petted each dog and awarded each a blue ribbon. When the class was
over, you can bet Chester was the 1st one out of the ring and under the
tent. Be on notice competitors - 2006 Show Series will have a Dog
Costume Class - get those pooches ready (that means you Chester) for
blue ribbons and surprises.

will be adding: Arabian English and Arabian Western Divisions, Dog
Costume Class, a few surprise classes, new judges, etc. These days,
shows can be expensive except at Cheval Stables! Where can you go and
have fun/good food/laughs/sponsor gifts - right here at Cheval! I look
forward to seeing you in 2006 - be sure to add them to your calendar -
have a safe & healthy winter season!
