 Welcome
to Sasha Arabians, home of champion Arabian show horses. We are
located one hour South of Toronto and 30 minutes North of Niagara
Falls in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Sasha Arabians, owned by Shirley and Kim Arndt, was
established in 1970. In the 1970's and 80's we produced, trained and
coached many Champions including bringing two horses to their Legion
of Honour and Legion of Merit. Our top student at that
time won every English
High Point award available two years in a row.
In the last 10 years Shirley has become a Level 2 IAHA
judge with a specialty in Hunt and Saddleseat Equitation. She is
also a Senior General Performance judge and a reg. Judge in Hunter
and Hunt Seat Equitation as well as being a CEF certified Coach in
Saddleseat Equitation. Also, having a 30 year career as a school
teacher gives her the skills and qualifications to well instruct her
students . This past year Shirley's students did extremely well in
the show ring. She coached one student to Reserve Champion of the
year in open Dressage, another to Top 5 honours at the Region 18
Championships in Hunter Pleasure JTR, and her daughter Kim to Region
18 Reserve Champion Western Pleasure ATR as well as many other
Western Championships throughout the year.
Pictured at right is M.B. Eleena coming 6 year old mare. She has
been trained here and is also used here for lessons 4 times a week.
This mare has won many Western Pleasure Championships as a Junior
Horse and was Region 18 Res. Ch Western Pl ATR. We will be taking
her to the Event this year also.
Kim Arndt has passed through the Arabian Association as
President for 2 years and Region 18 Youth Director. She has shown
her mare Nephateri to Supreme Champion at Halter and many Hunter
Pleasure Championships. This year she showed the Junior Western mare
MB Eleena to Region 18 Reserve Champion Western Pleasure ATR as well
as many other Western Championships.
Sasha Arabians is now a full service facility catering to
the needs of the equestrian. The facilities consist of a 17 stall
barn, indoor arena (60x120), outdoor riding ring (90 x 200) and
multiple paddocks. Sasha Arabians runs a full lesson program with
students in Hunter Pleasure, Equitation, Showmanship and Open
Dressage.
The brood mares contain sought after pedigrees combined
with proper conformation and people orientated dispositions. The
brood mares are daughters of The Minstril, Dalul, The Egyptian
Prince, Imperial Immarouf, Politiciann and Celebrity Bey.
In 2001, we are
expecting our Minstril daughter to produce a foal by The Elixir
(Canadian National Top 10 Stallion) and our Dalul daughter to
produce a foal by Thee Desperado (US Res.National Ch. Stallion)
Our goals include producing top quality purebred Arabians
that will be contenders at the top levels, developing a string of
students who will be in contention in the best of company,
developing an annual list of clinics that will benefit horsemanship
with eventual classroom area available as well.
